Regional Pitch Events (or RPEs) are first-round judging events hosted by Chapter Ambassadors. These are available in locations where there are 8 or more teams in a division. Regional Pitch Events are official, competitive events, where teams live pitch to a panel of judges and the top-scoring teams are guaranteed to advance to the semifinals.
Celebration events on the other hand are unofficial events that can be organized to celebrate the achievements of local teams. Celebration Events are events with fewer than 8 teams present in one or both divisions.
Teams at these events can pitch their app ideas and receive feedback. However, these teams must participate in online judging. The scores awarded at these events are not taken into consideration for the global competition.
