E-mentoring: Spend 30 minutes providing asynchronous feedback to students online. E-mentoring takes place entirely online, through video and text posts, and is asynchronous with the students' building process.
Live Mentoring Session: Join two or three other mentors in a 45 minute webinar-style mentoring session. Students show their plans and test their designs in front of the camera. You provide feedback and ask questions about their iterations!
Educator Coaching: Many of our educators come from non-STEM backgrounds or may be unfamiliar with the different disciplines on our platform. As a Coach, you will provide virtual support (email, Skype or phone call) to educators that need help with explaining scientific concepts and project implementation.
Mentor Guides: Every month, STEM professionals step outside their discipline to mentor students. While the mentorship principles are the same regardless of familiarity with the concepts at hand, sometimes mentors need to provide discipline-specific feedback. Our goal is to provide mentor guides for all 90+ design challenges (hands on projects) hosted on Curiosity Machine. We need your expertise to add specific concepts, talking points, images and videos to this guide, to help your fellow mentors. This is a 1-2 hour commitment.
