Curiosity Machine is a great addition to any engineering design curriculum. You can view how our design challenges align to different science subjects by checking out the Challenges page and browsing the categories that appear on the left side of your screen.
Curiosity Machine has over 100 design challenges in subjects such as aerospace, civil engineering, electrical engineering, robotics and more!
NGSS Standards Alignment
Curiosity Machine has worked to align our design challenges and resources to the NGSS standards. Many of our design challenges have teacher lesson plans and editable worksheets that are based off the engineering design NGSS standards.
You can view how all of our design challenges align to the NGSS K-8 standards here.
What if I Don't Use the NGSS Standards?
Don't worry, you can still use our resources to scaffold design challenges into your classroom. Our NGSS alignment page will give you an indication of which design challenges are appropriate for different ages. Also, each design challenge has a difficulty indicator from 1-3. This scale was developed with a 4th grade classroom in mind.
What if My Students Are in High School (older than 14 years of age)?
Curiosity Machine has many design challenges that are appropriate for older students. Many of our design challenges with a difficulty level of 3 would work well in high school classrooms. Our design challenges do not have any specific age rules; if you think they would be appropriate in your classroom then feel free to use them!
