Teams will need to submit their apps on my.technovationchallenge.org by April 26th, 2022, at 23:59 UTC.
Judges use this rubric to assign scores. We have two rounds of judging: quarterfinals and semifinals. Please note that due to COVID-19, all judging will take place online.
Round 1: Quarterfinals
Generally, judging takes place either a) online via Online Judging or b) in-person via Regional Pitch Events. Due to COVID-19, all Round 1 judging will take place online from May - June.
- Online judging - Teams participating virtually will be judged online, grouped by division. Their submissions will be scored by a panel of online judges from around the world. Teams in locations with RPEs can also choose this style of judging instead of event attendance.
- Note: RPEs are cancelled due to COVID-19. Regional Pitch Events (RPEs, only in certain locations) - Local RPEs will appear on teams’ dashboards. At RPEs, teams will have the opportunity to pitch live to a panel of judges - the top scoring teams will advance to semifinals. If you have questions about whether your team can participate in an RPE, you can consult your mentor or your Regional Ambassador. Learn more about RPEs here.
Round 2: Semifinals
The top-scoring teams from Round 1 of judging will advance to the Semifinals. We will announce the Semifinalists mid to lateJune. All Semifinalists will go through another round of online judging.
From these teams, judges will select 15 finalist teams (5 teams in each division) and 15 regional winners. Finalist teams are invited to the World Summit. Learn more about our awards here.
