Regional pitch events will be held wherever Regional Ambassadors are available and able. Updates about locations and dates of regional pitch events will be sent out out via email and posted to the Events page of the website as the information becomes available. For those participants who do not have regional pitch events to attend, their submissions will be scored through the online submission platform.
Regional Pitch Events fall into 2 categories:
- Judging events: In cities with more than 10 teams, Regional Ambassadors can organize a Regional Event for participating teams to move to the next round. These events have to be organized from May 1, 2017 through May 14, 2017. It is required that these events have a minimum of 3 judges, minimum of 10 teams in the Junior and Senior Divisions and teams live pitch their app ideas. Events can be organised for only one Division if both divisions don't have the required minimum of 10 teams. Teams are required to pitch their app ideas in person and cannot simply play their YouTube videos. For every 10 teams participating, one top scoring team will move to the next round; for 11-20 participating teams, 2 top scoring teams will move to the next round. Judges for these events will be required to submit their scores online by May 15, 2017. Students attending these events, will have to choose their city event (instead of virtual judging) during submissions. List of these events will be available here by March 1, 2017.
- Celebration Events: These events can be organized anytime after April 26, 2017 for celebrating the achievements of local teams. Teams at these events can pitch their app ideas and receive feedback form judges. These scores will not be taken into consideration for the global competition. Scores from the celebratory regional events can be used to reward local regional winners but these will not recorded on the Technovation platform. Students attending these event, will have to choose virtual judging during submissions.
